“I never felt like I belonged to anything except my own insecurities.”

Depression, low self-esteem, lack of self-worth. Casey was all too familiar with the voices of criticism resounding inside his head. In high school in Iran, teachers and peers told him he would never amount to anything and didn’t belong. He let their voices become his truth.

After years battling sadness and a crippling lack of confidence, Casey reached out to God in desperation. He asked God, if He was real, to reveal His love. Casey’s deepest desire was to belong and feel part of something. When Casey asked God to fill him with the love of Christ, God gave him the worth he felt he had never had.

In Him, I have a relationship and belong to something so much greater than just myself,” Casey said.In Christ, I find power and am given the incredible gifts of purpose, belonging, and worth.”

Through the gospel, Casey could finally shake off the demons of insecurity and enter into a meaningful and purposeful life. He has begun to encourage others struggling with depression. His message draws listeners into the love of Jesus.
